THINGS TO DO.....PLACES TO GO

Batemans Bay is located at the mouth of the spectacular Clyde River. It is situated between unspoilt forests and the endless pristine coastline. With its all year round mild climate, Batemans Bay is the perfect place to discover the natural beauty of the NSW South Coast. At Shady Willows Holiday Park, we can advise you about lots of things to see and do.

Beaches and Coastline
Explore the stunning South Coast shorelines by car, on foot or bicycle. Enjoy the clean unspoilt beaches near Batemans Bay and rugged rocky headlands. Learn to surf, take the kids for some quiet, seaside fun in the bay, or let your dog run free at designated beach areas.
Clyde River Cruises
Relax and enjoy a cruise on the majestic Clyde River, one of the state’s cleanest rivers. Take a day cruise up to historic Nelligen for a seafood lunch and see the famous Batemans Bay oyster farms. Or be energetic and kayak on the Clyde River, nearby lakes, or in Batemans Bay.
Fishing and Boating
A Marine Park has been declared covering 85,000 Ha around Batemans Bay – its sea, rivers and lakes – and sightseeing trips can take you out to see the marine wildlife. For the more adventurous, there are deep sea fishing charters, boat hire, or fishing from shore or wharf.
National Parks and Bushwalking
Walk or drive through the region’s many National Parks and State Forests, or by following one of the many 4WD trails, discover isolated caves and rock formations.
Or bushwalk along Lake Durras and through the rainforest to meet the kangaroos and parrots at Pebbly Beach.
Diving, Snorkelling and Sailing
Explore a great selection of snorkelling and diving sites or join a whale watching expedition (in season). Sailing boat charters and lessons are available at Batemans Bay. And after all that activity, what could be better than some of that famous fish’n’chips at the Wharf at Batemans Bay.
Birdland Animal Park
Cuddle a wombat or a koala, or hold a snake. Wander around 8 acres of waterfront bushlands and gardens and see 50 species of native animals and birds, or ride the little train. Use the free BBQ and stay for a picnic. A great place for the kids, and very close to Shady Willows Park.
